More About 1topside Creative Solutions

Inception

A small town HVAC and Electrical Handyman who does maintenance and finds solutions to everyday problems for average homeowners. Giving people the best possible solution for there problem is what people count on and expect every time, regardless of there ability to pay. Wanting to walk away from every job and have a satisfied customer has on occasion led me to design some workable solutions to problems with devices that were not on the shelf.
While continually encountering bad inducer draft fans, I was hard pressed to find a way to provide safe and continuous operation of the furnace until I could acquire the right induced draft fan for replacement, sometimes it took days. In theory, the concept of installing another inducer blower on the exhaust side of the inoperable draft fan was logical, so an induce blower was assembled, installed and we found the first of its kind. Additional testing and modifications were done and now we have a product we feel is now worth sharing with the HVAC service industry who have told me that this is a tool they would love to have and use when encountering bad induced draft fans.

Design That Work

Existing Feature

An induced-draft fan uses a blower to pulls air into the burner, and through the combustion chamber and heat exchanger. The fan then pushes the flue gases out through the vent. This creates negative pressure in the furnace, and creates positive pressure in the venting systems. Induced-draft fans are also called exhaust blowers, power vents or power venters systems, induced or forced draft fans are sometimes referred to fan-assisted. An induced-draft system has a fan after the burner and heat exchanger but before the flue . The induced-draft fan sits in the path of the hot products of combustion, that's one reason why induced-draft fans go out because it is in high temperatures and moisture content of exhaust gases. Manufacturers began to put induced-draft fans into their furnaces because they improved efficiency by wasting less house air. The beauty of the induced-draft fan system was that we no longer have to rely on gravity to exhaust the flue gases. We could push them right out through to the vent system.

The New Design

The purpose of this idea and device, when installed, will allow the furnace to operate safely when the draft induce fan has stop working. This device will pull the draft through the non-operating fan sufficient enough to clear the heat exchanger of any gas or fumes, helping in combustion, creating the proper vacuum and closing the pressure switch which in turn sends the voltage to the ignitor and other parts that makes the furnace works. Up until now, the only way to continue to safely operate a heating unit with an inoperable draft induced fan is to replace it. This idea and device will allow the service tech the time needed to acquire the part while continuing to safely operate the heating unit for the home owner. This device is meant to serve as a temporary fix but can serve as long as needed until the proper  induce draft fan for that unit can be acquired and installed to replace the non-operating fan. The topside induce draft fan will allow the service tech to connect to any furnace or package unit regardless of the size of the opening or electrical connections. It can be installed easily and the connections to the exhaust pipes are tight and will seal out all fumes, preventing any carbon monoxide emissions. No furnace or package unit will operate without the induce draft fan being operational, this topside induce draft fan will substitute in times when heat is really needed and the proper induce draft fan for that particular unit is not readily available. Being that there are several different types, models, sizes and shapes of induce draft fans, this topside induce draft fan is universal.

1topside At Work

Repairing a furnace with a bad induce-draft fan is achieved by simply replacing the induce-draft fan with the same model part that was removed. In some cases, this can be done by just going to the HVAC supplier, purchasing the part and installing it. Other times the HVAC supplier does not have that particular part in stock and you may have to wait for a period of time which during this waiting period, the customer is left without that comfort of having heat. I know from personal experience that it's not a pleasant thing not to be able to accommodate a customer in cold weather because you can't get the part, but this the dilemma the HVAC  Technicians face.

Convenience Is Here

Featured Product

There is now a way to achieve safe and continuous service from that furnace with the bad induce-draft fan even before replacing it. The new 1 topside induce-draft blower can be installed on any heating unit that utilizes the induced-draft system. This device will allow the HVAC Technician the convenience of having the time to acquire the right part to make the proper repair to the heating unit with no disappointment of leaving there customer without heat especially when it's needed.

More To Come

There are parts and features of this device and concept that is not revealed in this website due to privacy concerns. This product has been developed with the assistance of consulting HVAC Service Technicians, Technical Support Personnel as well as HVAC/R Instructors and I thank them all for there assistance. Going forward from this point will include the furnace manufacturing industry and other interested parties to work with the service industry in order to help make this product available so that better service can be provided to all our customers.

Keeping You Safe

This product is ideal in bridging the gap between your service technician diagnosing a bad induced draft fan and when those repairs are made. Attempting to bypass the induced draft fan on a heating unit is a very dangerous thing to do. 1topside has the one alternative for the temporary safe operations, so the thought of the bypass doesn't become a possible scenario. 1topside Creative Solutions is pleased to announce that this concept and device is Patent Pending.
